Walt Disney World

www.waltdisneyworld.com

The Magic Kingdom
This is the main attraction for kiddies and adults alike. It is a must see!

Epcot
Close to the Magic Kingdom, this not only has fantastic rides located in Future World, but also has a lake surrounded by the World Showcase of eleven different countries each serving the cuisine of their particular country. Epcot is a great favorite for all ages.

Disney's Hollywood Studios
This park has a range of superb rides and shows, 'Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular' is a show not to be missed, as is the night-time firework extravaganza of 'Fantasmic!'.

Animal Kingdom
Try the Kilimanjaro safari in a jeep bumping along a mud track - the photo opportunities are endless and you really believe you are out on the savannah. Like all Walt Disney World parks, there are many attractions such as the 3D 'It's tough to be a bug', and there is an afternoon parade and other fun rides. Disney combines education and fun in this park - a great day out!

Downtown Disney
This is a great evening out for all the family. You can enjoy the many sights and restaurants and take in a movie in the multi-cinema complex. You can also take a boat ride to the Disney hotels. A great day out!

Water Parks

Blizzard Beach
An amazing water park designed to resemble a ski resort - there are ski lifts, a 'toboggan' run and 'bobsled' rides - a really fun place for all age groups.

Typhoon Lagoon
There are slides, pools, a slow river, a surf pool and a saltwater artificial coral reef with tropical fish that you can snorkel through.

Universal Studios

www.universalorlando.com

You're the star at Universal Studios, the number one movie and TV based theme park in the world. At this real film and television studio, you’ll go behind the scenes, beyond the screen and right into the action of your favourite movies.

Whether you’re a fan of high-powered excitement, side-splitting comedy or heart-warming children’s tales, nobody puts you in the picture like Universal Studios.

Coming in 2009, Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit, an ALL-NEW adrenaline pumping and music thumping roller coaster!

Universal Studios
This theme park has lots of amazing rides, from the rather tame, but very cute, 'ET Adventure' to the quite spectacular show 'Terminator 2: 3-D Battle Across Time' and the ride 'Earthquake - The Big One'.

Islands of Adventure
Journey with your family through five remarkable islands where all your favourite myths, legends, comic books, cartoon heroes and children’s stories come to life.

From high-speed roller coasters to whimsical children’s rides to groundbreaking 3-D attractions, Islands of Adventure is where once-in-a-lifetime experiences happen every day.

There's even more excitement on the horizon with the announcement of the Harry Potter "theme park within a theme park" coming to Islands of Adventure. Fans will be immersed in the adventures of the world’s most popular wizard in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, scheduled to open in 2010.

Other Attractions

Sea World
www.seaworld.com
Sea World not only has killer whales, sharks, penguins, manatees, sea lions, otters and many other fabulous animals, it also has some good white-knuckle rides. Journey to Atlantis brings you to the lost sunken city with thrilling watery roller-coaster rides. Kracken – remember the monster under your bed? Well, it grew up! This is a monster coaster like no other and ranked no.10 in the world. Ride it at your peril! Check out their website for other attractions and restaurants.

Discovery Cove
www.discoverycove.com

Feel a unique mix of both calm and adventure as you snorkel among thousands of rays and exotic fish, and explore the splendor of coral reefs and grottos. Then, enter a series of free-flight aviaries where you can touch, feed and interact with hundreds of colorful tropical birds.
And there is so much more to see and do!

Busch Gardens
www.buschgardens.com

You'll spend very little time standing still at Busch Gardens theme park, Florida. It’s mostly about movement, most of it several hundred feet up in the air, extremely fast, and upside down. But, not all the attractions are roller coasters. There’s movement of a different kind in the African dances, and the off-road safari. And not forgetting Busch Garden's residents, there are more than two thousand exotic animals to see.

Kennedy Space Center
www.kennedyspacecenter.com

This is one of my favourites! NASA's launch headquarters is the only place on Earth where you can tour launch areas, meet an astronaut, see giant rockets, train in space-flight simulators, and even view a launch. You can also chat with an Astronaut.

Services in the theme parks

Useful services provided by all theme parks include:
lockers, strollers and wheelchairs (electric and manual) for rent. There are information booths everywhere.

Food in the theme parks

You are surrounded by eating opportunities as diverse and enjoyable as the many attractions. All tastes are catered for, from a burger or hot-dog "on the go" to a full waiter-service restaurant. Explore the many ethnic tastes. All menus and prices are prominently displayed. Do take time to read them so that you enjoy the experience when you dine.

Eating Out

With an abundance of restaurants and you will be spoiled for choice. There are eating establishments everywhere of all types and kinds and to suit all pockets. If we were to pick some of our favourites, which are only at the bottom of the road, we would recommend – the Outback Steakhouse which serves steaks, ribs, seafood and the desserts are great. Also nearby is Carrabbas a superb Italian and there is also Red Lobster, Taco Bell and a TGI Fridays. The Golden Corral does an amazing breakfast (all you can eat for around $10) which is a buffet style restaurant. The IHOP across the 192 is a great favourite for the kids.

A comprehensive list is attached and it helps to read the reviews - www.dineview.com

You must see Celebration - (a 50’s town built by Disney for Disney employees) www.architecture.about.com which is a short drive away and it is full of great restaurants. Just beyond the turn to Celebration, on the corner of International Drive is Logan's Roadhouse www.logansroadhouse.com which is a great bar and eatery. They have peanuts everywhere and you just throw the shells on the floor. The music is country – and so is the cooking. Yippee!
